Neon Trigger Devlog #5 –Danger: Big and Small


Hi all. I'm James(JAL), one of the artists working on Neon Trigger. This week's update introduces two new enemies who come as a package deal.

As of now, we're calling them Boss Bot and Exploding Bot, respectively: 

Boss Bot.
Exploding Bot.




The Boss


Boss Bot presents a challenge to the player not only for his incredible size, but his cannon-powered area of effect attacks that encompass the room. We intend for him to read as a major threat as soon as the player steps into his lair.

This guy was designed to be massive and imposing. The player should be asking "How do I defeat this eldritch-tech abomination?".

Exploding Bot


To add a bigger challenge for players, we've decided to include hordes of Exploding Bots. These little guys will populate the Boss' lair and chase the player. Their only objective: Search and destroy.

These enemies were inspired by the old crank-robot toys from the 50's. Our version is designed to be slightly more annoying and a lot more deadly.

Together, these enemies present danger to the player from all directions. It'll be wise to keep your eyes and the ground and the sky.
